About the Amata Transition House Society

The Amata Transition House Society is funded by the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General and BC Housing Management Commission. The Society also receives donations from the community and from the Provincial Employees Community Services Fund.

Mission Statement

We encourage responsive change and growth through collaboration. We strive to empower, educate and advocate for a diverse, open and equitable society, by creating a safe, comfortable, supportive environment for women and children.

Statement of
​Feminist Principles

That women's and children's safety is first and foremost.
That all person's are equal while recognizing that women and children have historically been oppressed.
That we have a commitment to action, both political and personal, toward creating change with and for women, as well as a commitment to identify violence against women and to recognize violence beyond sanctioned, dominant societal perceptions.
