Programs & Services

The Amata Transition House Society provides short-term housing, advocacy and support for women and children. We hope to assist you in working out a plan so that your stay with us is positive and empowering.

Support Worker

Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week 
Support workers are available to answer questions and offer supportive counselling and referral information either on a drop-in basis, scheduled one-on-ones or by telephone. Please do not hesitate to ask questions or express your needs.​

House Coordinator

Available Monday to Friday
​from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
The House Coordinator is available to assist or direct you to the person you need. The House Coordinator will help organize meal preparation and daily shared chores. If the Support Worker is busy, the House Coordinator is there if you need to talk.
 

Outreach Worker

Available Monday to Friday
​from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
The Outreach worker can accompany you on appointments and offer support and information you may need – i.e. lawyers, court, medical, service providers, Ministry of Housing & Social Development, Ministry of Children & Family Development, etc. She also facilitates the 10 week educational group “Phoenix Program”.​

PEACE Program (Prevention. Education. Advocacy. Counselling. Empowerment)

Available Monday to Thursday
​from 8:30 am – 5 pm
The PEACE Coordinator provides one-on-one and group counselling for children who have witnessed abuse. She is available to answer any of your questions.

Family Childcare Worker

Available Monday to Friday
​from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
The Family Childcare worker is available for information and to talk to you about your kids and the transition you are all going through. She is also available to help make arrangements with schooling or to care for your children while you are at your important appointments – i.e. court, doctors, lawyers or to offer respite. ​

Accountant

Available Monday & Tuesday
​from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
The Accountant is available to direct your questions. 

Executive Director

Available Monday to Friday from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
The Executive Director oversees the day to day operations of the Amata Transition House Society, is the contact person for the Society and liaison person for the Board of Directors. She will hear any concerns or issues you might have or, as the Privacy Officer, any matters of concern regarding confidentiality and privacy issues.
